Day 8. Saturday 21 July - Southampton & Home
We awoke at just past 5am to find us sailing past Isle of white.
I sent a text to the others informing of going to breakfast at six-thirty rather than seven forty five. No reply. We were there when it opened by the time we left at seven all the tables were occupied. We went back to our cabin to await eight-thirty when we had to depart the cabin. The others stuck to their plan of later breakfast which was over crowded and finding a table for four harder than they thought. Plus the rush to get back to the cabin to see what was happening.
We all waited at our exit area and waited our departure. We watched by the piano at the blue bar. No waiters to pester us. Peaceful. Just waiting. we had already seen our car parked waiting for us. We just have to wait for our luggage to be ready for collection in an hours time. I would have preferred the self departure now, but the others felt it too difficult to take their own cases off the ship. Something that was simple to do and in fact less complicated than the way we did it.
Any way half an hour earlier than expected we were already off the ship and on our way home.
