Sunday 15th July 2012 ~ All at sea
We awoke before the alarm set for 7 local time. The sea was reasonable. we checked our account of spending the day before. Sammy 31 in the beauty salon and me a bottle of wine at dinner and drinks at the blue bar. 25 spent.
After breakfast we took ourselves on to deck 7 and sat on the sunny-side watching the sea go by. We did pass a oil carrying ship. (Tanker)
Smokers drove us into the ship. There was supposed to be designated areas. But gradually the sunny side filled up with the stench of smoke making it impossible to breath. We had to abandon our sitting in the cool sun. Smoking is a awful habit and should not be allowed near non smokers.
We took ourselves off for a beverage before lunch.
Later we sat at the back of the ship and watched where we had been. soon enough smokers stank us back inside. We moved to the cafeteria before lunch. we noticed just how many were still eating breakfast. By then it was getting overcast.
After lunch we took a leisurely afternoon. we rested a while in our cabins. soaking up what ever sun was shared. but it was far too cool to sit there too long.
We met before dinner all dressed up in our smart stuff and had a group photograph taken. Then it was dinner. The waiters were not as efficient as our last cruise. But we worked out they were possibly new and had not found themselves to be too organised. We were not re-topped up with water and the wine waiter must have too many to care for as we only got a second whiff of him at the end of our sitting. After dinner we went and listened to a dance band. We remarked just before we returned to our respective cabins how light it still was at 11pm. On our way back we all passed the photo displays and purchased a copy of the group picture.
Checking the TV route map we found that we were now sailing just off the base of Norway.
